SCHOOL BUS SAFETY AWARENESS DAY
SUNDAY, AUGUST 29, 2010
The Ottawa Student Transportation Authority, in conjunction with Le Consortium de Transport Scolaire d'Ottawa and the School Bus Operators of the Ottawa region, will be presenting the 18th annual School Bus Safety Awareness Day on Sunday, August 29,2010 for all first-time school bus riders. This co-operative venture will be held concurrently at six different school sites across the City of Ottawa.
The program is geared primarily for parents and children new to school bus transportation. All children entering the school system for the first time in the fall, or new residents to the area should plan to attend. The day’s activities are suitable for all elementary school-age children and everyone is welcome.
The following activities will be available at all school sites:
- School bus rides with instructions on loading and unloading procedures;
- Stationary vehicle inspections;
- Bus safety information and hand-outs;
- Bus safety video featuring Winnie the Pooh and friends; and
- Bus safety certificate, colouring books, and refreshments.
The program will be offered from 9:00am to 1:00pm on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the sites listed below. There is unlimited enrolment, but please pre-register by calling the phone number next to the site you prefer to attend.
