NEW! Change to Eligibility Requirements for OCDSB Secondary School Students

changeThe eligibility requirements for students in grades 9-12 have changed for September 2014.  All students meeting the 3.2km distance criteria from their designated school, regardless of the Urban Transit Area or financial need are eligible to receive transportation services.  Congregated stops will continue for rural students to special program schools.  Please refer to the T18 – Transportation Eligibility Policy and T7 – Public Transit Service Policy.

OSTA will select the most appropriate mode of transportation which may include yellow bus, public transit or small school purpose vehicle.  Parents and students may access information about how grade 9-12 students will be getting to school in August using the online “Stop Finder” or by calling OSTA.  OCDSB Secondary School Walk Zone Maps are available for viewing.

School Bus Service for 2014-2015

OSTA has secured yellow bus transportation services for the 2014-15 school year. All routes will remain consistent from this year to September 2014, barring any minor adjustments due to load factors and distribution of students. This occurs every year. We anticipate that many drivers will continue to operate the same routes in the new year, albeit for a different operator.

OSTA is pleased to welcome three new operators who will be taking over Stock Transportation routes:

1) Direct Transportation Logistics will be taking over wheelchair bus routes at numerous schools. DTL has been providing transportation services to OSTA for students with special needs for several years. Any drivers interested in becoming part of DTL’s team should send a message to: [email protected] or call 613-749-0660. Dan also invites you to drop by his office at 2161 Bantree in Ottawa.

2) Roxborough Bus Lines will be taking over routes in the Osgoode/Metcalfe area, as well as some routes in the Orleans area . Roxborough currently conducts business with Consortium de Transport Scolaire d’Ottawa and Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario. They are very familiar with Ottawa and our market. Any drivers interested in becoming part of Roxborough’s team should send a message and/or resume to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..”>[email protected]. Drivers can also complete a job application online at www.roxboroughbus.com.

3) Campeau Bus Lines will be taking over 111 routes servicing numerous schools in the East, Central and Barrhaven area. Campeau also currently conducts business with Consortium de Transport Scolaire d’Ottawa and Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario. They are very familiar with Ottawa and our market. Any drivers interested in becoming part of Campeau’s team should send an email to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..”>[email protected]. Campeau does provide bilingual service.

* Note: OSTA’s new operators will not be hiring drivers for an employment start date prior to June 30 2014, so as not to negatively impact our current operations. We strongly encourage all drivers to complete the school year with their current operator.

It is unfortunate that OSTA was not able to come to an agreement with Stock regarding next year’s routes. We appreciate their long-standing service and we are grateful for their assistance in transitioning their drivers and routes to the new operators. All other routes will continue to be serviced by our other current operators.

OSTA will continue to faciliate communication between schools, parents, and the new operators during this transition.
