Student Active Transportation Toolkit for Educators

During these challenging times, we wanted to share some good news… the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority (OSTA), in collaboration with EnviroCentre, has been working on a Walk to School Day Event Planning Toolkit, which is now complete! You can access the full Toolkit and all supplemental resources on OSTA’s website here. It is free to use and full of ideas, planning tips, and tools.

We acknowledge that with school closures and the current circumstances, walk to school events are on pause. We are hopeful that this fun Toolkit brings some brightness to your day and gives you something to look forward to.

Educators, families, and students can also use this Toolkit as a resource for online learning. Use the curriculum-linked activities included, or create your own! Enter sample data to evaluate and analyze, learn about the environmental impact of transportation choices, or health and physical activity, or write a creative short story about the journey to school (or a walk around your neighbourhood)!
