This past fall, OSTA conducted an online survey to better understand how Ottawa Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) and the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) students got to school and if families observed any traffic impacts around school sites. We are happy to report that we received over 6,200 responses from parents, guardians and students. Results show that 17% more families surveyed walked all the way to school if their school graduated from or is currently engaged in the School Active Transportation Program (SATP) compared to schools that have never participated in SATP. The results and feedback from the survey will help OSTA improve our programs and resources by highlighting the needs of students and school sites.
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to share and complete the survey. If you would like to read the full report, please view or download the online survey results.
